The hospitality industry is a large and diverse field. It is often broken down into different sectors that work together. While hotels are a major part, the industry includes much more. In Nepal, these sectors are closely linked because tourism drives demand for all of them.

  • Accommodation: This is the largest sector, including everything from five-star hotels in Pokhara to budget lodges in Chitwan and luxury jungle resorts.

  • Food and Beverage: Standalone restaurants, hotel dining rooms, cafes, and bars. Think of traditional Newari restaurants in Kathmandu or a café serving tourists with a view of the Himalayas.

  • Travel and Tourism: This includes tour operators, travel agencies, and transport services that help guests explore Nepal’s attractions.

  • Events and Recreation: This covers conferences, weddings, cultural shows, and activities like jungle safaris or white-water rafting.
